Rev. William B. Lyons Jr. accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the young age of 7.  He was called to the preaching ministry at 16, but was not ready to heed the call and did not accept God's call to preach until five years later.  While William has worked in the church since his salvation experience, after accepting the call he set out to serve in a whole new way.  He's lead in varying capacities within the local church, Minister of Youth, Discipleship Training, Singles, Christian Education and Interim Pastor, are a few of the positions he has held.  To better equip himself for the work God called him to do, William attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and in 1997 received a Bachelors in Pastoral Ministry, with a minor in Christian Education and Theology.  William has served as Minister of Education at Second Baptist Church since January 2000 and served  as the Congress President of the Progressive District Baptist Association for eight years and two years as Vice President of the Nevada California Interstate Mission State Congress of Christian Education.  In addition, Rev. Lyons currently serves as Vice Moderator for the Sierra Baptist Association.

William has been married to Marsheilah for 17 years and has two wonderful children, Marshay Maxine Lyons (16) and William B. Lyons III (13).
