The Scholarship Ministry provides financial assistance to enhance the ability of students to achieve their academic goals and develop skills needed for the future.

Our purpose is to provide counseling and material assistance in the Name and to the glory of Jesus Christ. Our intention is to keep this ministry as an explicit testimony to the love of Jesus Christ, not simply to provide services.

Choir & Music Ministry

The Music Ministry is dedicated to lifting Christ through songs of praise and worship and enhancing the worship service for Second Baptist Church.

For all interested in joining the gospel choir, practices are Thursday evenings at 7:00pm. Come on out and join us!
The Music Ministry is dedicated in bringing the Word of God through songs of Praise and setting the Worship Atmosphere through our music and songs.

For all who would love to be part of our Music Ministry, we rehearse each Thursday evening at 7pm.

Christian Living & Member Appreciation

The New Members Orientation Ministry is designed to give new converts a preliminary introduction into what it means to be members of the Second Baptist Church family. It covers topics that are foundational to Christian growth and Christian commitment.

Greeters Ministry

The Greeters Ministry greets members and visitors for Sunday worship and special occasion services, passing out bulletins and giving general information, all with the spirit of love and welcome.

Deaconess & Wives

Deaconess and Minister’s Wives are dedicated to the ministry of helps. Preparing the communion table, preparation for baptism, ministering to the needs of women of the church. The female counterpart of the church Deacons. Sister Wanda Shepherd is the chairwoman of this ministry.

Information Technology

Information Technology Ministry seeks to be the center of IT solutions by providing system management, system administration, technical support and training for the advancement of the commission found in Matthew 28:19-20. The goal of IT Ministry is to ensure these services are provided in an effective, efficient and timely manner to allow Second Baptist Church to evangelize and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to residents, not only of our local community, but throughout the world.

Mature Adults & Inspiration Ministry

The Mature Adults Ministry is a group of spiritually mature men and women who support each other in prayer and fellowship. They are focused on keeping abreast of issues which affect the aging, involved in community actives as well as touching the lives of the elderly sick and shut ins.Our weekly noonday prayer group, developed to encourage, inspire, reaching out to the saved and the unsaved. Visits the sick and shut-in, pray for special needs of individuals as well as the collective Second Baptist Church family.

Ministry Outreach & College Feed

This ministry prepares a variety of foods for all church wide events. Major days, funerals, fellowships, etc. Responsible for keeping up on food and service sanitation laws. In addition, responsible for kitchen supplies and service equipment. This ministry team is also responsible for preparation of and feeding the homeless on a monthly bases, at a local homeless shelter.

Woman’s Ministry & Missions

This ministry is devoted to minister to the needs of all women. This ministry provides outreach in which reaches the sick and shut-in, women’s shelters and children’s needs. They also seek to enhance the spiritual growth through bi-weekly Bible study.

Usher Board

Door Keepers! Directs members and guest to available seating as well as promote the comfort and care of the congregation. This ministry serves during all worship services, designated church wide events, funerals, special programs, etc.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a specialized form of religious education which focuses on children. Churches usually hold the week-long events during the summer, though the lengths of such programs may vary, and they are sometimes held during other times of the year.

Youth & Young Adults NGEM

We help ministry workers introduce young people to Jesus Christ. So young people can live out their relationship with the Lord and His Church on a daily basis. To develop youth and young adult ministry practitioners who manifest spiritual/theological depth, professional competency, academic excellence, professional leadership skills, A genuine and growing relationship with Christ, a perspective that joins God and young people in their cultural settings, programming expertise, and the ability for self-reflection necessary for the spiritual care of youth and young adults within the broader church and community context.

Veterans’ Day

Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, that honors military veterans; that is, persons who served in the United States Armed Forces.

Webb Legacy Scholarship

In honor of Rev. William C. Webb, an annual scholarship is presented to the youth of Second Baptist Church for those students studying in state and out of state.

Van Ministry

Transportation Ministry for SBC. Available for Sunday morning worship services and special outings when approved.
Responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the church van.

Sunday Shuttle Van Services:
Two (2) Runs each Sunday Morning and one (1) in the afternoon.

Sunday School Only – 8am-9am
11am Service – 9:30am-10:45am

End of 11am shuttle service
