Vision of the House
What We Believe
We believe in One Lord, One Faith, One body and One baptism. We believe in the Holy Trinity, God
the Father, God the Son and God The Holy Spirit.
We believe there is no errancy in the Bible. We believe in the partaking in the Lord’s Supper. We
believe in Baptism through emersion of water. We believe the Bible was written by men divinely
inspired.
We believe the Scriptures teach that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized
believers. We believe the Scriptures teach that the Law of God is the eternal and unchangeable rule
of His moral government.
We Are Helping People:
-
To Commit to Living for Him.
-
Have a Thirst for Learning of Him.
-
Be Willing to Love like Him.
There are three things that make the Christian church different from any organization of human
origin. Those elements are essential to the Christian church and are non-negotiable in nature. In
other words, without these elements the organization may be non/not-for-profit; and, may be social
in their agenda, but in order for the organization to be a church these three things must be part of
who they are and what they do.
Second Baptist Church Reno is a religious institute devoted to carrying out the Lord’s mandate to
win our world for Christ. That’s done by way of our witness. We are also under the heavenly
mandate to come together to lift the name of our Savior in worship. Moreover, it is our duty as a
Christian church to religiously educate our members by instructing them in the teachings of our
Savior as recorded in the Word of God.
Vision of Our House
Without reservation the vision of our house centers on these three things:
I. We are helping people commit to “Living for Him” in our Worship: Wherefore, our daily lifestyle is
that becoming of a Christian dedicated to honoring our Savior and heavenly Father in how we live.
Furthermore, when we gather, as a body of baptized believers, we gather to worship Him
collectively, while at the same time instructing our members how to carry out the tenents of our faith
in their daily lives.
II. We are helping people have a thirst for “Learning of Him” through His Word: Wherefore, it is our
committed aim to provide Christian instructions through our ministry of education so that people can
know who it is they have trusted for salvation and why? Moreover, we make every effort to include
the instruction of the word in all that we do; including but not limited to our Sunday school, Bible
Classes, Institutes, VBS, and much more.
III. We are helping people be willing to “Love like Him” in our Witness: Wherefore, it is our focused
aim to lead people toward a heart for mission work and service. Thus we help people find their own
passion for Christian service and we lead them to the appropriate place of service in ministry or
missions on behalf of Jesus Christ our Lord.
This is the vision of this house and it requires devotion and dedication. The fulfillment of this vision
will be a church family where people are walking in the favor of the Lord, earnestly growing in their
faith, and meeting the challenges of the world around them by serving their own community and the
world abroad.
